A New Kind Of Evil That Is As Old As Time!
Private Detective Harry Phillip Lovecraft (Dennis Hopper) lives in Los Angeles in the 1950s where everyone practices magic. An ambitious politician Senator Larson Crockett (Eric Bogosian) is holding official hearings on Magic. Private Detective Lovecraft is unique in that he is the only person who refuses to use magic in his work. Magic is a major influence in Tinsel Town. Shortly after Harry Phillip Lovecraft is hired he discovers that his client Kim Hudson (Penelope Ann Miller) was accused of the murder of her husband a film executive. Lovecraft uses the tallents of a local witch Hypolyta Kropotkin (Sheryl Lee Ralph) to explain what is happening only to see her accused of murder and sentenced to burn by the stake.

The song I Put A Spell on You was written by Jalacy Hawkins and was performed by Nina Simone.
TRIVIA:
While making the circuit of talk shows to promote this movie Dennis Hopper stated this was the strangest movie he had ever done.
While billed as the sequel to Cast A Deadly Spell this is actually a reinterpretation of the concept in the 1950's instead of the 1940's; there is no continuity between the two films.
